Star Force: Operation: Carnage on the Drama Scene

Plot Synopsis
Cancer Bubble has almost gained enough "energy" to fill up the Andromeda key, so he goes into the final phase of his plan, he's going to record Harp Note issuing an extremely hostile challenge he heard Sonia Strumm say off a TV show (something about defeating her rival with the anger of Mt. Everest or something). Of course since Cancer doesn't know that Harp Note is Sonia, he figures he has to make the recording by luring her out in the open and getting her to say the line.

Crown Thunder goes with him to keep MegaMan distracted while Cancer holds up a cue card and Harp Note takes the bait, hook, line and sinker. She delivers the line, and Cancer takes off. We hear a loud scream from Crown Thunder, see a twinkle in the sky, and then suddenly MegaMan comes back (this shot is hilarious).

They go looking for Cancer, who is outside of Luna's house. Cancer gets Luna's attention and plays the recording, but Luna assumes it's just Cancer screwing with her. Harp Note arrives at the scene just in time to send Cancer flying away just as Luna opens up her window, and to her surprise, actually sees Harp Note standing there, and Luna thinks that Harp Note really did just challenge her for MegaMan's affection, and she's none to happy about that.

Luna accepts Harp Note's "challenge" which just confuses Harp Note, but after a few exchanges about MegaMan, Harp Note gets pretty pissed off as well. MegaMan just shows up at a reeeeeeally bad time, as Harp Note and Luna decide right then and there to make him choose between them, and they flat out ask him (pointing to each other) "What is she to you?!"

"This is just like the beginning to a scene of bloodshed..." comments Omega-Xis. While MegaMan fumbles around with his words, Cancer comes in and tries to activate the Andromeda Key... but since it's not full of real energy, nor the actual key, it doesn't work. Luna and Harp Note smash and blast Cancer into the sky, while an extremely nervous and uncomfortable MegaMan says, "Friends! We're all friends right? So let's be friendly!"

Critique
This episode is just about perfect on the humor level, as there are so many good lines. There's a great deal of little things, like Cancer's unhealthy obsession with Sonia (perhaps a poke at anime and some Mega Man fans in general), and the timing on Geo defeating Crown Thunder off screen. There's also a fantastic scene between Geo and his mother, where she asks if Geo likes girls like Sonia, or if he likes the Class President, to which Geo gets really red faced and denies any interest. It's a classic moment.

If I had one complaint, I didn't like the 4th wall breaking joke, but it certainly didn't kill the episode for me. This is easily one of the funniest episodes and all the characters, Cancer and Crown included, pull it off just perfectly.

Rating: Thumbs up!
