NT Warrior: Wacky Madness and Blazing Battles! (Part 2)

Plot Synopsis
We begin already in the middle of the fight between TorchMan and MegaMan, and MegaMan starts breaking away from the stalemate and gains the upper hand, but Mr. Match has no intention of keeping this a fair fight. Mr. Match uploads some viruses into the N1 arena, which causes all of the arena's solar power system to focus all of it's energy into the center of the arena. Not only does this power up TorchMan tremendously, it also focuses all of the heat onto Lan, putting him in some real danger here.

MegaMan tells Lan to get away from the playing field because it's too dangerous, but Lan refuses to abandon MegaMan. Yai, Dex and Tory see that WWW is cheating and head down to the lobby to jack their Navi's in to help Lan. Mayl doesn't do anything though, bitch. During the battle, the heat really starts to get to Lan and he even collapses! Mr. Match has no intention of letting MegaMan jack out either, he's going to delete him. Well GutsMan, IceMan, and Glyde are having trouble deleting all the viruses, but just then, Commander Beef shows up with SharkMan and helps out. With the viruses deleted the arena starts to regain control and turn the heat down.

It might be too late though, as MegaMan is down, and TorchMan is throwing one last attack to finish him off. Lan struggles to his feet and uses another miniboomer chip to block TorchMan's attack. MegaMan gets to his feet, and Lan is able to take out Mr. Match and TorchMan, winning the match. Lan's friends come to cheer him on and celebrate backstage, when Chaud shows up and tells Lan that his technical abilities in the match were pathetic. Lan gets pissed as Chaud smugly walks off.

Then for one last stretch of comedy, Higsby with NumberMan loses to Sal with WoodMan. So much for that upgrade? Interestingly, no one seems to remember that WoodMan is Black Rose's net navi.

Critique
A good episode with plenty of suspense and action. This type of scenario is very arch-typical of Battle Network, a situation where Lan is placed in danger from some sort of environmental damage as MegaMan faces deletion. This is the dynamic that makes Battle Network work as a setting because MegaMan and Lan depend on each other. It'll be a while until Axess fucks everything up with Cross Fusion, but generally episodes like this one are very enjoyable.

Rating: Thumbs Up!
