We're Almost Out of Mega Man

Only a couple of miscellaneous games in 2008. Both Cell Phone games released only in Japan and well... they might actually be decent. Frankly the thought of a new Legends game in Japan only is quite the kick in the balls for many Mega Man fans. Luckily this year most fans will be distracted by the biggest release this franchise has had in years.

Rockman Intuition

Dr. Wily has escaped from Prison and Mega Man must compete in 12 minigames to stop him. Done in the Power Up style graphics, Intuition gives me a bit of a Warrior Ware vibe and has a few Super Adventure Rockman style shooter games in it as well. It is a cell phone game though, and typically those games aren't very sophisticated. Still a collection of games is probably better suited to a cell phone than any single game.

Rockman DASH: Great Five-Island Adventure!

So those expecting a Legends 3 are going to be getting teased again by Capcom. The first Legends game in 3 years, and the first new Legends game in 5 if you count cell phone games as new games. Apparently this one even plays a bit like a standard Legends game as well, so yeah, we're missing out on something here in the states. The story involves the origin of where refractors come from and junk, and the Bonnes and Servbots show up as well. Of all the cell phone games in the series, this is probably the only one that your average Mega Man fan gives a damn about. Maybe we'll get lucky one day and North America will get it's own version, but don't count on it for a while.

Well for once, I am genuinely disappointed with not having access to the Mega Man cell phone games. Let it be known that quite a few of the more successful cell phone games did make it over to the United States though, so all hope is not lost for Great Five-Island Adventure!
